This course is a comprehensive overview of investigative resources that are predominantly internet-based that every investigator should know. The course covers resources at various levels of government, from Federal to local municipal resources, as well as, the growing number of non-governmental resources. Most of the resources covered are new, unknown or under-utilized. The course will also cover topics of information exchange opportunities and benefits, as well as resources that greatly assist in telephone and internet investigations.
Investigators have more resources at their fingertips than ever before in history. The number of resources available increase almost daily. This course will highlight the most effective resources that are available today to support today’s investigations. It focuses on Internet based investigative resources that are open source, law enforcement only, in addition to non-internet sources. Social networking sites and investigative use will also be covered.
